This charger works great - charges within an hour - it does detect bad batteries with a rapid light flashing.Should have come with two color lights (red/green) because when put in a battery to charge it does flash and if you had not seen the rapid flash you might think your battery is bad. B&D should have included this as its charger since its batteries last 20 - 60 minutes and it takes 60 minutes to recharge and with two batteries at least you can finish a project at one time - the charger included takes 8 hours and I'm sure this effects sales and when I tell others of this quick charger they are much happier but some do return their machine because they feel taken.
This is a fast charger, but more importantly, I can leave my battery on the charger indefinitely and it stays charged. With this charger, I always have a battery charged and ready to go.
I purchased a Black & Decker Leaf Blower and Hand Vacuum so I had 2 battery chargers. I purchased this charger and am very happy with it. Just over 1 year later both chargers were garbage. It seems typical that the original chargers do fail quickly as per other reviews. It seems to have revived my battery packs, my Leaf Blower definitely last longer to finish the job and then some, as before a battery pack would barely last long enough to do half the yard. Buy this charger, you'll see what I mean, you won't be disappointed.
This product as operated as intended. It will fully charge a 18V Battery in about 90 minutes. This is great if you are working on a project that is time consuming.
I had a great 14.4 volt Firestorm drill that hadn't been used for the past three years because of a bad battery charger. This charger works so much better than the one that came with the drill. When I found this one, I ordered it immediately. I charged up my two drill batteries and started using the drill again. It was shipped promptly and I got it for several bucks cheaper than at the local building supply. Thanks for a great product and for getting it to me so quickly.
